Harvest Fair

Historic Trappe

Inside the Muhlenberg dining room. Gavin Ashworth Photography

We’ve wanted to demonstrate at an event here for longer than we’ve been demonstrating! It’s an amazing complex of buildings. We’re looking forward to it!

Celebrate fall in Trappe at a family-friendly Harvest Fair held on the grounds of the Muhlenberg House and the Speaker’s House. Enjoy live music and square dancing, delicious food, 18th century trade demonstrations (that’s us), colonial kids’ games, and locally-made artisanal wares. Visit the Muhlenberg House for tours led by interpreters in period clothing stationed in each room.

At the Speaker’s House, explore the newly restored and fully furnished home of Frederick Muhlenberg and stroll through an authentic Pennsylvania German kitchen garden to learn about heirloom plants and raised-bed gardening. Visit the kitchen to learn about colonial cooking and food preservation, including sauerkraut making.

Admission to all three buildings is $5.
