Its first edition written in 1810, this book is a survey of known printers, booksellers and newspapers in both major and minor cities in the Colonies, in Canada, and other British possessions. Himself a printer, he appears in the section for Newburyport, Rhode Island, a fact that jumped out at me as I opened the book to a random page!
This is one of those books that have been published by various firms, since the contents is in the public domain. That means the cover may look different depending on where you find it. It’s still the real thing.
